LOGAN & LAUREN KOERTEN

Gary and Barb Bennett serve the Lord through WorldVenture in Rwanda,
East Africa. Rwanda is an amazing country that has seen unbelievable
development since the dark days of the genocide against the Tutsi in
1994 during which close to a million people were killed. Gary has been
in Rwanda since 1985, and Barb joined him there after their marriage
in 2006.  Gary and Barb both see themselves in support roles to
ministries happening in Rwanda.  Gary uses his gifts of working with
his hands to support the training work done by New Creation
Ministries.  He also oversees all of the construction and agricultural
demonstrations at New

Creations Ministries' Pastoral Training Center and Christian
Leadership Institute.  One of his recent projects is raising Black
soldier fly larvae as a protein source for rural pastors to use in
feeding their livestock. Gary is also the field treasurer which
involves a lot of time at banks and keeping up on tax laws.

In addition to providing hospitality to visiting short-term teams,
Barb has been an assistant teacher of English to rural pastors and has
taught music in a number of different settings including Kigali
International Community School, homeschooled kids and an afterschool
music outreach sponsored by our church (choir, recorder, band, and
ukulele). Barb's current role is providing member care for a number of
missionary children in Rwanda.  She is currently finishing up her
Masters degree in Music Therapy, and hopes to begin working with kids
with special needs in the near future.
