The goal of our nursery is to provide the positive, loving care God desires for your child and we minister to the children birth through 3 years old. Nursery care is offered during both the Education Hour and the worship service. In order to provide a high level of care, we have outlined some basic guidelines. They reflect the high standard of hygiene, efficiency, and security necessary to maintain proper care for your little one. If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact the Calvary administrative office.
Parent Rotational Program – If you have a nursery-aged child and are a regular attender at Calvary, you will be asked to work in the Parent Rotational Care Program. This program stresses parent involvement in the nursery. The experience wil help you develop your skills in sharing spiritual values with the children of Calvary, as well as with your own children. By taking your turn in the Parent Rotational Care Program, you will help insure that quality nursery care continues for all our children.
Drop off & Pick up – In order to guard the safety and security of your child, we have a check-in and retrieval system in place. It is important that you utilize this system each time your child is in the nursery. Each child that participates in Calvary's Sunday morning children's ministry will check-in through our new computerized check-in system. This system helps us to provide a safe and secure environment for your child. The system registers the child, assigns them to a room, prints a security sticker for the parent to use to pick up the child, and prints item tags for children's belongings(available for nursery only). Pagers are available for parents who want to be contacted during the service if their child needs them.
Illness – Calvary has a “well-baby” nursery. To protect all our children, please do not place a child in the nursery who appears ill. We cannot accept a child with a fever, contagious rash, or other signs of illness. If your child becomes ill while in the nursery, we will notify you promptly.
Snacks – It is not permitted to spoon feed children in the nursery. Bottles or sipper cups are acceptable. Young infants will be fed only what parents provide. Older infants will be given only the kinds of snacks parents indicate. Water, Cheerios® , or animal crackers may be offered to your toddler. Please alert nursery workers of any snack restrictions your child may have.
Nursing Moms – For your comfort and convenience, we have a private place for mothers to nurse their infants. Ushers and/or nursery workers will be happy to direct you there.
Cleanliness – Small toys are sterilized after each service. Parents and nursery workers take turn sterilizing other toys and equipment on a regular basis. Linens are changed for each child using a nursery crib.
What’s in Your Bag? – Please include the following items in your infant’s diaper bag: 3-4 diapers, change of clothing, bottle or sipper cup, sweater and socks, bib.
